...My Nana...

This is a small part of my family. 

My two uncles, Clayton & David, Nanny Cook and my mom Helen!

I'll miss my Nanny, when the time comes for us to say goodbye, our time is short now as she is nearing the end.  She has now been admitted to the Miramichi Hospital in Palliative care, we are all just waiting now, and this is the worst part of it all.  I love this family of mine, and losing one of them is going to be hard. Some may think bad of me for not wanting to see her the way she is now, but I prefer not to see her like this...I want to remember her for who she was before the cancer, I want to remember how she used to be, not how she was when the disease took over. So please dont' think bad of me for not wanting to see her during these last days. I do love her with all my being, she's my Nanna!

She is one hell of a woman, my grandmother, I wish you could all have met her when she was well...she's a crazy one and definitely not your typical grandma to say the least.  She could party with the best of us, and even party harder than most that were half her age, yup, she could drink you under the table!!!

I will always remember spending my summers on the beach (she lived on the beach), I had so much fun during those times, and I will always cherish the times I've spend with her...I can remember all the way back to being just a young girl, sleeping on a bean bag chair (my choice), while she was living in Fredericton, watching those huge squirrels ...and sitting with a kitten, always a kitten for some reason!  I remember so much, and will cherish those memories of my time with her.

I love you Nanny, and will always be thinking of you.

Simply Scrapping Crafts

When I need inspiration & a challenge I sometimes go here to Simply Scrapping Crafts, the ladies are wonderful and the challenges are fun.

Well, a few weeks ago, I uploaded a few of my LO's and this morning I got an email saying that I have been chosen gallery fav!!  So excited for me!  I love when this happens!

Hopefully I can get some more scrapping done over the week, and get my mind off of some personal stuff. 

A lot has happened this weekend, and I really need some me time...I can't wait till the crop at the end of the month, I am so going to relax and enjoy myself.

Registration fee includes goodie bags, scrapping time with your friends, snacks, lunch on Saturday.

(Dinner will be at your leisure since Moncton has some fabulous restaurants!) The store will be on-site Friday and Saturday for your shopping needs.

I won!!!! I won the Big Brother Challenge over at Let's Capture our Memories!! I am so excited, I won a 50$ gift certificate from the online store. You really should check out that store, awesome, awesome deals!

Anyways, I have never created an altered item before, but for the last challenge of the contest, we had to create something, so this is what I made.

I had fun with this challenge!  So I managed to turn this bird house, into a sorta little table with 5 mini albums!  I love it, each mini is for each of my family members, and one for all of us!

LCOM Big Brother Challenge

I'm in the final 3!!!  OMG! I can't beleive I actually made it this far!  I'm so nervous about our last challenge, but I have an idea at what I am going to do!!  I can't wait, I'm going to start working on it tomorrow!

Happy Monday...

Today is the last day off until I go back to work tomorrow, I've been off for 7days...nope not on vacation.  The little guy was so sick last week, it was kinda scary, he had a fever over 103 for a few days, so i stayed home with him...he was even hallucinating, but I think it was due to the meds he was taking.  For all concerned, he is right back to his happy little self again, and not even the slightest of signs of being sick.

Anyways, as I was saying...I go back to work tomorrow, so today I did some scrapping.  I managed to get 3 LO & 3 cards...some I will show you, others I cannot they are for LCOM Card DT.

As you may be aware, LCOM had an online crop, so I managed to get this 1 LO done for the crop, cause I was at the live crop!!!

I can only show this one...as the other things I have done were for the LCOM Big Brother #8 Challenge, I can't show those just yet!! But I'll share soon.

Saturday's Crop

I had so much fun at the crop on Saturday, it was only the second crop I had gone to, but we had fun!  Lots of chatting & scrapping!  I wish I could go to more of them, hopefully the next one is here in Moncton.  I'm going to try and find a spot to have one in here within the next few months, so that the local girls can attend!!

Anyways, I did manage to get some stuff done at the crop!  So here's what I did:

This was done with a sketch that she provided us at the crop..we had until 5:00pm to complete the sketch and then our names were entered into a random drawing for a prize!  Guess what!!

I also won the prize!

Oh I also managed to get a Mini Album completed...Here's some pics:

LCOM Spring Crop!

I can't wait for Saturday!  I'll be heading out to Quispamsis to do a full day of scrapbooking...I so need this little getaway.  I think it's well deserved!

I still have to work on my LCOM BB challenge for week #7...this weeks challenge is pretty simple, and I have lots of ideas for it, it's just a matter of finding the time to do it.

SEVENTH LCOM Big Brother Challenge

This week’s challenge is to do a layout using the quote “April showers brings May flowers”.

You must use pastels (light pinks, blues, yellows, greens, purples...), some painted chipboard with glitter, have something embossed and make an original, stamped, patterned paper to use on your layout.

 I'm going to attempt and work on my challenge today, if the little guy  lets me!!  He's been sick for the past few days and is now feeling up to his usual self again!!

Oh and I need to pack for the crop sometime today & tomorrow...what to bring!!
